To Revolve clients – regarding the new Mugga Tender

You will recall that Revolve had once again been forced to submit a tender in September this year for it's own Resource Recovery business on the Mugga Landfill. Now there appears to be a delay in finalising the details in regard to selecting the operator for the site.

A large amount of resources have gone to landfill since Aussie Junk went broke and Thiess took over their operation.

Sadly Revolve is aware that this large amount of lost resources also means lost employment to the community.

Due to this slack response we ask the Canberra community to be patient and continue to support Revolve by taking their goods for drop-off down to our site on the Hume Revolve Resource Recovery Estate located off the roundabout near the Materials Recovery Facility at the end of Mugga Lane at the bottom of the landfill.

A New Beginning

Revolve has developed a new commercial allegiance with financial investors in both the commercial and social enterprise sectors who have determined to support a new model for Revolve in the community sector which will be developed along the following lines:

  1. Expansion of the Revolve program "Wastestream to Cleanstream" which contains the following elements:
    • Materials handling and value adding
    • Local, closed- loop Resource management for re-use, recycling and composting
    • Community education focussing on waste reduction/minimisation. (Zero Waste)
    • Training and certification program for youth
    • Water and Energy savings
    • Links to the Voluntary Carbon Market
    • Environmental financial management training
    • Utilising and mentoring skills from the aged
    • Aboriginal Cultural Training
  2. Development of a central Social Enterprise hub initiating a local Sustainability Reinvestment Trust
  3. Logistics training and data management
  4. Establishment of the Resoil program for the collection, processing and return of organic material to agriculture
  5. Construction and management of a mattress recycling factory
  6. Development of an organics reuse model for the Voluntary Carbon Market under a CPRS
  7. A working Real Estate agency support model to furnish itinerant workers premises and facilitate economic storage
  8. Development of a regional arts estate based on materials reuse. Including training, residencies and sales
  9. Development of a working model which accredits all GHG savings for the benefit of the ACT community.
